Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Committees Business Development Committee This committee seeks out opportunities for members to expand their business. This may take the form of linking two or more members together, assisting members to apply to supply goods or services to the government, or assisting members to supply goods or services to a non-member private business. This Committee meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 11:30am-1pm at the Chamber office Chair: Ginny Velasquez, TeamPersona Co-Chair: Emilio Solares, Lamar Transit Advertising Marketing Committee The goal of the Marketing Committee is to better communicate information to our members. Duties are as follows:

The committee strives to increase the number of active members in the H5C by proactively seeking out prospective new members. The committee also works diligently to maintain existing members by helping them to obtain the maximum benefit from their membership. In addition to attending a monthly meeting, each committee member participates by making phone calls to welcome new members, following up with prospective new members, greeting new and prospective members at the monthly mixers, and introducing new and existing members of the many benefits available to them through the H5C. Villanueva, iServe Residential Lending The Membership Committee meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 11am-12:30pmt the Chamber office. Events Committee The Events Committee is responsible for planning and promoting our events. These events include monthly network mixers, mixers with other chambers in the county, Fiesta/Christmas party, annual business expo with Pleasant Hill and Concord chambers, annual Small Business Awards Luncheon with the Contra Costa Council, Cinco de Mayo party, and many other spontaneous events. Chair: Ray Villanueva Invitations will be sent out to members to join the different event committees. Education Committee The Education Committee is responsible for the largest H5C event of the year, the annual “Narrowing the Gap” conference where over 200 Latino high school students and over 50 Latino business leaders meet for a half day conference to discuss the importance of graduating from high school, career opportunities, paying for college and other important topics. Government Affairs Committee The Government Affairs Committee dedicates itself to working with elected officials at the federal, state, county and local levels to increase the opportunities for success of Hispanic Chamber members. The committee meets as needed and makes recommendations to the board for final approval. Chair: Jesus Vargas, VSCE, Inc. Government Affair Committee Procedures Click Here This committee meets every other month on the 2nd Thursday at 1pm at the Chamber office and conference calls every other month on the 2nd Thursday at 1pm. Green Committee The mission of the Green Committee is to promote sustainable, healthy, responsible and profitable environmental practices. Join us as together we experience and promote the greening of the Chamber and our members. Our vision is to cultivate green, sustainable practices. They are the seeds of environmental awareness. Like indigenous milpas, a sustainable agriculture practiced by Mesoamerican peoples, we will assist in spreading and creating healthy, responsible and environmentally sustainable business practices in our community.
