Education Conference
Since 2001, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has been
inviting Latino high school students from throughout Contra Costa County
for a 1/2 day conference to meet with Latino business and community
leaders to discuss career opportunities, college education, the
importance of graduating from high school and learning English.
This year's conference will have over 250 students and 75 business leaders providing opportunities for the students to:
- Meet business professionals, educational mentors and industrial teachers
- Get "hands-on" experiences in technical fields
- Learn about major industry sectors including marketing, sales, public service, trades and business
- Find out what it's like to own a business, work for a corporation, organization or institution
- Hear discussions on the rewards of completing high school and the advantages of post-high school education in trade schools, community colleges and universities
- Learn how to apply to colleges and for financial aid
